yes, i have wheels on my shoes.

People always ask me if i have wheels on my shoes. Because I do.

heely's shoes w/ wheels.

In March I bought a pair of Heelys skate shoes online based on the advice of a Canadian comrade. I had only seen them in action once (a teenager whizzing past on the sidewalk) but had become obsessed with finding a pair instantly. I expected them to be uncomfortable, dangerous, and silly - certain I would send them back for a refund. The first attempt at wearing them was discouraging, but I eventually got the hang of it. There is a single wheel in each heel and normal walking is accomplished much as one would walk in high heels. To skate you put one foot in front of the other lifting your toes and balancing on the wheels. It very quickly becomes natural.

Rather unexpectedly, these have become my primary shoes. Cracks in sidewalks, stray pebbles, wet pavement and my own drunkenness have occasionally been limiting factors, but for the most part they are all-purpose. Smooth floors in grocery stores and such are especially fun - fun enough to make up for looking like a big dork. The wheels can be removed with relative ease, but I almost never do so. The best 60 bucks I’ve spent in a very long time. Shoes.com provided my pair. You may also want to visit the unnecessarily flash heavy, unneccessarily X-tream Heelys website.

    Gabby -

i’ve had a few wheels start to do this. WD-40 helped a little, but I think the ball bearings just get too worn out. The newer “abec-7″ bearings seem to be lasting longer and are smoother too. You might try asking some skateboard shops for advice - there might be better lubricants you could get.

I’ve tempted, so so tempted to get myself a pair, but at age 45, I know two things will happen:

    1) I’ll look like a prat
    2) (More importantly) I’ll go a**e over tit and do my back in and spend months regretting it.

I’m leaving the Heeling to my 7 year old daughter, who’s flexible enough to cope and who still looks ‘cool’!

hey. i just bought a pair of heelys too. it took me a day or so to get the feel for them. i really love them and want to be rolling around. but ive noticed that when i heel i cant help but drag my front foot on the soft breaker behind the wheel. Am i putting too much weight on the back of the shoe instead of on the wheel? Howd you get a hang of them? email me: auroraglare@hotmail.com

My heely’s were working perfectly fine the other day, and then today I went to put them on to heely, and one of the weels were not working. It seemed like it was clogged! Are they ruined? I really don’t want to spend money to buy new weels, because I have the Mega weels and they would probably be expensive. HELP ME!!!!

Heelys is recruiting kids to test their new line of products. The kids
need to know how to “heel”, be willing to use the product a large
amount of time and report their feedback on a feedback form that
Heelys provides. The feedback will need to be as detailed as possible.
They will have deadlines to meet with the forms and return of product.
It is no cost to the parents, we pay for all shipping. Please let me
know of anyone who may be interested.
