New York City
Just returned from a weekend trip to NYC with my coffee consigliere Kyle. I have many blurry photos and blurry memories to sort through and should have more to report as the brain cells come back online.
I love New York - especially this time of year - so I jumped at the chance to slip away from the oppressively pleasant weather of L.A. and taste my favorite town and true home.

We went directly from the airport to Luzzo’s Pizza in the East Village. Kyle has become something of a pizza nut, always threatening to macgyver some crazy 900F pizza oven, so it was essential that we hit at least one of the real-deal pizza joints during our stay. Luzzo’s did not disappoint. Within three minutes of ordering our first pie was at the table. Perfect crust. We inhaled it.
But the real meat of our trip was in getting a dose of the growing coffee scene as I’ll relate in the next post.

Ummm Pizza Pizza.. We’re heading up there in February for some GTD work and another tour de force of coffee. Sometime we need to synchronize our excursions ;-)

Next time you guys are back in Seattle, I’ll introduce you to my friend who has removed the safety mechanisms on his home oven to cook at 1,000F :)
