Amanitas everywhere

Here in the Pacific Northwest, autumn brings forth a funkload of fungi. This year seems especially myco-friendly. Among the astonishing array of fungus to stumble upon, the Amanita Muscaria is a special treat for the eyes.

It is beautiful, possibly toxic, a potent entheogen, and (with some careful preparation) apparently a fine edible. As of yet, I have only used the mushroom for photos - not food or flying.
