Victrola baristas tip out to the Red Cross

organic Sumatran green coffee

Today the baristi at Victrola Coffee turned their tip jar over to the Red Cross. I haven’t seen the final tally, but the morning shift alone pulled in $487. Our baristi and our customers are awesome.

One of the areas hit hardest by the tsunami is the also the region where the organic Sumatran coffee we use in our drip blend is grown. Its a really fantastic coffee grown sustainably on very small family farms of just a couple of acres each. A coffee cooperative there is organizing a relief effort which you can donate to directly via CoffeeKids.

It looks like we’ve topped $1500, with contributions from owners Jen & Chris. It seems like a lot of people in the coffee business are pitching in.
