new Victrola page

I’ve been working on a new webpage for Victrola that is 95% complete. Its built on WordPress (like this site) using the Kubrick template and Kellen’s excellent Magpie RSS parser to integrate del.icio.us feeds. Only today, after much being in-over-my-head with this stuff, do I discover that WordPress 1.5 has been released and includes the Kubrick template, magpie and static pages! *sigh* I could have avoided alot of weeping and hair pulling if I’d just procrastinated a few more days. Soon I’ll bite the bullet and upgrade it to 1.5 - hacking, unhacking, and rehacking all of the crap that got me so worked up for the past week.

But as my wise friend Jon Lasser said to me today “all software is broken.” Words to live by.

Hey, the new Victrola site looks to be shaping up nicely.

I noticed the ’store’ tab. Will this be for retail bean sales? Given that I share a Zip Code with the cafe, I wouldn’t make use of that service, but I have more than a few friends in other states who would be happy to know they could have coffee shipped to them.

the old .com has a working shopping cart system, but we’ll be looking to spruce this up in the coming weeks. Whole bean sales for sure and probably some Victrola swag. I’ll be sure to make some noise online here once our mail order business gets spiffed up.
