forget Bumbershoot…

…the real music event of the week already happened at Victrola.

Last nights show for the opening of Michele Noach’s paintings was epic. I only caught wind of it that afternoon and was almost foolish enough to blow it off in favor of going to bed early.

The incomparable Robyn Hitchcock hosted with help from friends The Young Fresh Fellows, Peter Buck and Mike Mills (of R.E.M.), Chris Ballew (of the Presidents of the United States of America), Sean Nelson (of Harvey Danger), Bill Rieflen (of Ministry) and possibly two or three other awesome musicians I’m neglecting to mention.

Jen said several times that she almost peed her pants with glee, but I attribute this in part to the large amount of wine that was being consumed and the challenge of obtaining one of the bathroom keys. I’ve posted a big ol’ mess of photos for perusal and Jen has her account of the event up on the victrolacoffee.net blog.

Nice, nice. Just that I would really wish to see the fucking artwork on the pictures too….but perhaps that evening wasn´t that much about it, right?

Now that looks like a SERIOUS ad hoc coffeehaus rock show. Good & good. You’re fortunate to have the capacity for such an event… (I’m jealous of your square footage).

You can’t be serious… THE Robyn Hitchcock among other luminaries? It’s still not quite enough to get me to move to Seattle but I must start visiting more often….
